April Ross
April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball stars to capture medals at multiple Olympics. Alix Klineman is a new Olympian and will join the team in Tokyo. Ross aims to earn her Olympic debut gold however, she also hopes to win more. At 39, this could be her last opportunity to accomplish this. However, she is confident of achieving top honours. Ross said on NBC Boston that if they perform at their very best, and even play well her team can win a gold medal. In addition, I'll try some chances. Ross was born August 22, 1982, at Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area along with her entire family. In addition to playing in numerous sports, Ross also attended Newport Harbor High School. Apart from the indoor game, she also was a basketball player and also ran track in her pre-college days. She was definitely the best in the game of indoor volleyball. When she played in her high school volleyball career in her university bio, she was a middle-blocker, outside-hitter and setter. She was named the Gatorade National Circle of Champions Player of the Year in 1999 due to her accomplishments. In 2000, she was named Orange County Athlete of the Yr for volleyball. Even though Ross Klineman and Ross are in the spotlight since the year 2017, Klineman was already a big-time participant on the beaches prior to their team. Actually Ross has won a number of important tournaments throughout her career along with her two teammates. One of them is a volleyball legend. From 2007 until 2013, she was partnered by Jennifer Kessy, who is currently her coach. Kessy's teammate Ross, who won the world title alongside Kessy in 2009, also was a major force on an international level. They took home a Silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team as well as Kerri Jennings won the gold. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor when she retired. The team won bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross started her college professional career playing for the Trojans of USC after her high school days. It was a long time before Ross went to the sand and turned professional. The time she spent at the school was a memorable one. As a freshmen in 2000 the Trojans' performance earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Young Player of the Year awards. She was also one of the key players for helping the Trojans to make it to it to the Final Four. Her sophomore year was the time she was devastated by a personal setback but managed to be a second All-American. Over her final two years in the program she led the Trojans towards the summit of the mountain by winning two three consecutive championships at the national level. As an individual, she cemented her place as a legend by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This prize was awarded to the best female college volleyball players across the nation. Ross, who was a USC international relations student was a star in volleyball. Unfortunately, Ross mom Margie was not able to witness Ross rise to the top levels of beach volleyball superstardom. Ross suffered the loss of her mom to cancer of the breast in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. However, she keeps her parents close to her heart. Margie is a beach lover as well as in everyday life, is still a source of inspiration for her.
